Warcraft lore. Thesis style.

TEN YEARS OF WARCRAFT.
FIVE GOLDEN EGGS.
THREE NIGHT ELVES. (and one hulking, confused tauren…)
ONE LORE BLOG TO BIND THEM. (FOR PONY!)
Welcome to Flavor Text, the brainchild of a few recovering academics who’ve found that World of Warcraft can fill the void left behind once you’ve completed your graduate thesis rather nicely. There’s currently no international peer-reviewed journal for Azerothian Studies (yet!), so we’ve created this blog to satisfy our burning need to have intellectual discourse about internet dragons. Here’s a sample of some topics we have coming up:
- Mother-daughter relationships and the Warcraft canon
- The invented languages of Azeroth
- Historical artifacts in Azeroth–what was valued, and why?
- Use of literary references and narratives in the game world
At this point, we imagine you’re either nodding your head in excitement or questioning our sanity. (Possibly both.) We’re looking forward to this little online experiment, and we hope you’ll stick around for the results.
